Fora celebrate Clerkenwell Design Week – Tuesday May 22nd – Thursday May 24th
Petite Friture, Orrb and Balance Talks to host events and installations at Fora’s Clerkenwell venues
Fora will host a unique series of design events for London’s Clerkenwell Design Week, from May 22nd – 24th. Held at its Central Street and Dallington Street locations in Clerkenwell, Fora has collaborated with a range of designers and collectives to host events and installations throughout the week, celebrating exceptional design talent.
Co-founder of Fora, Katrina Larkin commented: “Both Clerkenwell and design are a huge part of Fora’s story, we’re delighted to be able to support this as part of Clerkenwell Design Week.”
The events will run throughout Clerkenwell Design Week commencing on Tuesday 22nd May with a product launch by Orrb and designer Lee McCormack, showcasing full immersion wellness technology, whilst Scottish design duo Timorous Beasties will present their third collection with Brintons. On Wednesday 23rd May Magnum Photos will present Photography and Place, Anti Copying in Design (ACID) will host an IP seminar on intellectual property, and French design editor Petite Friture will host a panel on nurturing design talent. Balance Magazine will round off the week with a talk on Wellbeing in the Workplace on Thursday 24th May.
Inspired by the co-working revolution, Fora is reimagining the office space, with premium hospitality, modern design, and a curated approach to events. Fora will use its in-house event space to host the series of events ranging from panels, installations, talks and product launches.

Event title: Timorous Beasties and Brintons, in conversation

Scottish design duo Timorous Beasties present Craigend, their third collection with Brintons, Craigend, at Clerkenwell Design Week. The pair will be joined in conversation with Emma Cassidy, Head of Creative Design at Brintons. By invitation only.

Event title: Orrb; Full Immersion Wellness Technology
Event start time: 2.00pm

Location: Central St
New product launch. A short presentation by Orrb designer Lee McCormack followed by a chance to experience the new fully immersive product environment. Orrb aims to help facilitate the wellness and learning in the workplace. Orrb is a gymnasium for the mind, helping you relax, regain focus, increase performance and train for self-development.
NOTE: the sleeping pod will be available to the public during the whole week in the café area. It will be then moved to the office space.

Event title: Magnum Photos Presents: Photography & Place

Magnum Photos’ Global Cultural Director Sophie Wright presents approaches to documenting the spirit of a place with photography, to coincide with a display of Magnum’s Live Lab London in Fora; a three-photographer residency project responding to the Clerkenwell area.

Fora welcomes Petite Friture’s founder, Amélie du Passage, and designer of its ‘Chains’ lighting, Sylvain Willenz, to the Forum where design writer, Katie Treggiden, will chair a discussion centred on nurturing talent.
NOTE: Petite Friture’s installation will be at Fora Central, in the restaurant, concierge and bar areas from Monday to Saturday included.
