Carpet Edition Rugs Featured in the Ode alla Luna Residential Project

Form follows emotion.
This was the guiding principle for Milan based collective Studio Paradisiartificiali in the redesign of an existing apartment in Desio (Milano) to house a young woman and her mother.
The space-planning along with the selection of furniture and interiors, were thoughtfully designed and selected after taking an introspective look at the owner’s interests and personality to better understand and reflect them in the project, which came to be called Ode alla Luna (Ode to the Moon), where the moon represents the symbol of feminine strength.
The entrance opens directly to a living room conceived as a true “temple of knowledge”. Ample shelving, designed to house a vast book collection, reflect the owner’s deep passion for reading.
The real protagonist of this space is the large circular CoDeco rug from Carpet Edition, designed by Marcante-Testa and shown here in the model CD03 – Cornice Verde con punto Verde (dia. 240 cm).
The frame of the CoDeco not only defines the design but becomes a harmonious transitional element between the subject and the surrounding space.
The circular border precisely defines the perimeter, while the design “explodes” in the central portion with a clean geometric pattern.
In a space dominated by tones of green and terracotta, the bright green frame of the CoDeco follows the colour story, perfectly harmonizing with the delicate leaves in the wallpaper, the vintage chair’s upholstery, and the numerous plants and other design elements that enrich the space with natural and welcoming touch.
CoDeco is hand tufted using soft New Zealand wool and Tencel with two different pile heights, which gives movement to the rug.
The open passage space between the living room and kitchen is flanked by a beautiful bookcase with double columns framing both sides of the room.
The columns, supported by elegant terracotta figures, feature shelves designed to provide more space for the owner’s vast book collection. Fluted storage cabinets at the base of the bookshelves add function to the space.
The kitchen includes a dining table, enhanced by the Acapulco AC 01 Beige rug in 100% natural Sisal (dimensions 160x240cm) known for its durability and the characteristic texture of the fibre.
The neutral tone of the rug harmoniously integrates with the furnishings, including chair, wicker benches and shelving, creating a balanced and inviting atmosphere.
