Canary Wharf Group unveils One Park Drive’s elite Level 55 Show Apartment styled by British Designer, Portia Fox

Canary Wharf Group has unveiled four new apartments on the 55th storey of its signature residential building, One Park Drive, in Wood Wharf. Designed by world-renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron, famed for London’s Tate Modern and Beijing’s Bird’s Nest stadium, One Park Drive is the architectural firm’s first residential building in the UK.

The four apartments on Level 55 provide the opportunity to own one of the most exclusive residential offerings in Canary Wharf. Each of the three-bedroom homes feature unparalleled proportions, with ceiling heights of over 3 metres and an average size of 1,900 square feet. The homes boast rarely seen views from wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows, showcasing many of London’s most recognised landmarks, including Greenwich’s Royal Observatory, The Shard, Tower Bridge and the London Eye.

One of the apartments has been dressed by acclaimed luxury interior designer Portia Fox, whose other recent projects include the award-winning sub-penthouse at Thirty Casson Square, Southbank Place.

The design for Level 55 has taken inspiration from the apartment’s contrasting vistas; the neutral palette is accompanied by splashes of greens, warm ambers and blues to reflect the landscape below. Layered over this is an array of complementary textures from hand dyed straw, velvets and natural linens, which together bring depth and warmth to each space.

Portia Fox has also created a range of bespoke furnishings, from a reworked boucle desk chair in the study and a one-of-a-kind Cotswold Oak dining table finished in limed oak with solid walnut edging, acting as a centrepiece to the kitchen-dining room.

Portia Fox, Founder and Creative Director at Portia Fox Design comments:

“We are thrilled to be part of this unique London offering and to work with Canary Wharf Group again. We’ve endeavoured to create a luxurious but liveable space, taking special care to blend the home effortlessly with the interior base build and accentuating the curved, organic shapes of the building’s architecture. We have created a home with a strong sense of place, truly bringing the outside in and incorporating unique elements that make up the eclectic patchwork of the Canary Wharf Estate, working with an amazing network of artists and craftspeople, including painters, textile artists, ceramicists, glass blowers and seamstresses.”

Melanie Conway, Associate Director of Residential Sales at Canary Wharf Group, adds:

“The launch of these four apartments on Level 55 is a significant milestone for One Park Drive, as it marks the penultimate release at this flagship residential building.

“We’re proud to have curated a top-tier team of partners throughout every stage of the building, from conception to completion, from the likes of Herzog & de Meuron, GA Design, Goddard Littlefair, Bowler James Brindley and now Portia Fox. All partners share the same commitment to detail and quality, synonymous with Canary Wharf Group, in turn delivering a residential development of unprecedented standard.”

One Park Drive offers state-of-the-art amenities, split over the ground and first floors. Residents benefit from 24-hour concierge services, a library, a cinema room and a lounge on the ground floor, whilst the first floor houses an exclusive residents-only health club. Framed by floor-to-ceiling glazing, this calming space, which includes a 20-metre pool, a gym, studio space and a spa, invites stunning views of the surrounding parks, gardens and water.

One Park Drive sits within Wood Wharf, a new 23-acre neighbourhood within the Canary Wharf estate, which will be home to up to 3,600 new homes, 350,000 sq.ft. of shops and restaurants, 2 million sq.ft. of office space, a new NHS doctor’s surgery and two-form primary school. Amongst this will sit lively high streets, green public spaces and walkways.

Residents enjoy the tranquillity of waterside living whilst being moments from high quality new restaurants including Hawksmoor, Emilia’s Crafted Pasta and MMy Wood Wharf (part of Mercato Metropolitano). Additionally, they benefit from the wider amenities found across Canary Wharf, including 300 shops, bars and restaurants, the UK’s largest free-to-visit award-winning public art collection, and over 100 culturally inspired events each year, most of which are free.

Residents are surrounded by high quality transport connections: the recently opened Elizabeth Line connects Canary Wharf to Liverpool Street in six minutes and to Paddington in just 17 minutes, whilst the Jubilee Line offers direct trains to Bond Street and the West End in less than 20 minutes.
