GAME, SET AND MATCH FOR LUCECO AT BOLTON ARENA!
It was ‘Game, Set and Match’ for lighting specialist, Luceco when Bolton Arena Sports Village was looking to upgrade the 15-year-old lighting in its extensive Tennis Halls recently.
Inspiring
As a top-grade sports facility, Bolton Arena inspires people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, disabilities and health conditions to pursue a passion for sport, activity and healthy lifestyles.
Illuminating opportunity
However, the old fluorescent lighting in its Tennis Halls, which attract players from across the whole of the north of England, had reached the end of its life and needed replacing.
Simon Sharrock, Operations Manager at Bolton Arena explained, ‘This presented us with a great opportunity to both look for a more economic and energy-saving solution as well as a significant upgrade to the quality of the lighting for our prestigious Tennis Halls, which are not only used for international, national and local tournaments, but also as exhibition space, so high quality lighting was an absolute priority for us.’
That’s where Luceco comes in.
Following a thorough site survey and design process, meeting Lawn Tennis Association lighting specifications, and working with Omega LED supplies and NTES Contractors, Lighting Design Services’ Brent Samson specified Luceco’s new dimmable Luxbay Ultra high specification luminaires, which have been designed and engineered to provide optimal energy consumption, ease of installation and, key to this project, return on investment.
The Luxbay Ultra is designed for high level applications so was perfect for Bolton Arena’s Tennis Halls. Aluminium housing and polycarbonate lenses – with each lens type specially designed to maximise spacings on install – ensures energy efficient and well-dispersed lighting.
Crucially, remote control of five lighting settings, via a phone app, enables the simple and tailored control of light on each individual court.
Transformed space
Simon said, ‘The finished space has been transformed – it is now bright with a clean and airy feel, with the quality of light greatly improved, making it easy to see the tennis balls during matches.’
Luceco Project Manager, Andy Whalley said, ‘Cost effective, energy efficient, high quality adjustable lighting was required for Bolton Arena’s Tennis Halls and our dimmable Luxbay Ultra delivered on all fronts.’
