HIQ Glass Transforms Hayle House with Bespoke Architectural Glazing
Barn conversion features a glass façade with an oak frame
The renovation of Hayle House incorporates striking architectural glazing solutions, transforming the property into a light-filled, contemporary home while respecting its natural surroundings. A key feature of the design is the extensive use of frameless glass panels that create uninterrupted views of the countryside, blurring the lines between the home’s interior and the panoramic landscape.
The southwest-facing elevations have been fitted with high-performance glazing, providing enhanced solar control to maintain the home’s energy efficiency. The glass elements are carefully engineered to offer both aesthetic appeal and robust protection from the elements.
The project boasts a bespoke structural glass installation, with a large-scale, frameless window system acting as the focal point of the home’s design. The installation is an impressive 4.2 metres high, ensuring the interiors are flooded with natural light while maintaining a sleek, minimalist aesthetic. This expansive glazing creates a dynamic connection between the living spaces and the verdant surroundings.
The link between the existing house and the newly constructed wing is elegantly crafted using minimal frame sliding glass doors. These ultra-slim systems, reaching up to 3.5 metres in height, offer effortless transitions from the interior living areas to the outdoor terraces and gardens, ensuring the home remains open and connected to the scenic environment. This remarkable renovation of Hayle House exemplifies the possibilities of combining modern glazing technology with timeless architectural design, creating a home that is as functional as it is visually stunning.
