Nikolaus Bagnara, an international leader in the production, distribution and processing of stone materials, is participating in Milano Design Week for the first time.

From April 7 to 13, 2025 is presenting HOPE, an itinerary designed for Superdesign Show, during the Fuorisalone, in the spaces of Superstudio Più at Via Tortona 27 in Milan.

HOPE is an installation designed by Draw Studio that, inspired by the theme of the project for the 25th anniversary of the Fuorisalone in one of the pioneering districts of Milan’s design week, explores the theme of happiness through a multisensory journey in which it is possible to experience the expressive potential of natural stone in a creative context.

HOPE is a path that is distributed along three environments that match with as many states of mind. It starts from certain axioms: without sadness there would be no joy, without pain one could not conceive of pleasure, without fear it would not be possible to bring out courage, without doubt one could not mature certainty, and without loneliness one would not truly appreciate the value of companionship: there is no light without shadow.

The first environment, Room of Shadow, is immersed in darkness. It is a hazy place of rough surfaces, angular shapes, material fragments scattered where darkness has the upper hand. However, already after a few steps it is possible to see a glimmer of light cutting through the rock: a passageway leads into the Room of Hope. Here the light expands, the environment is uncluttered, dominated by soft lines, clear materials and smooth surfaces.

It is the space connected to reflection, exchange and dialogue, where sharing and listening are also fostered by the environment. In addition, some symbolic elements characterize the path: in the center of the room, a large circle reflecting the image of the visitors pops up, where they can see themselves as part of a whole, a context made up of people and harmony; two gables connect to the idea of listening, while six precious crystal spheres represent universal values. Only at the end of this route it is natural to dive into the third and final room, called the Corridor of Bloom.

Here two fundamental aspects come together, for on the one hand an explosion of color and vitality characterize the choices of both materials and the floral vaulting that expands on the ceiling all along the way, and on the other hand a long stone walkway, with no perceptible boundaries, offers an idea of continuity in time and space. This arrangement accompanies the visitor to the exit.

All the elements used to create these three environments were drawn from the materials that are mined, treated, processed and marketed by Bagnara, but on this occasion they were offered in a layout designed and created specifically by Draw Studio.
