Rockwool is honoured to be selected as a finalist for two new products at the forthcoming, highly prestigious H&V News Awards. The two Rockwool L contenders nominated in the ‘Smith Brothers Commercial HVAC Product of the Year – Pipework and Peripherals’ category are ROCKLAP Pipe Supports and DuoDuct, reflecting the significant investment the company is making in its recently extended, problem-solving HVAC insulation range.

ROCKLAP PIPE SUPPORT

ROCKLAP Pipe Supports are the first stone wool option for contractors to minimise thermal bridging performance for pipe suspension points, hanger brackets and clamps. The aim is to help maintain and provide an effective, energy efficient, load bearing capability and point load resistance that forms a robust, non-combustible, comprehensive and fire safe solution. 

To be able to offer a more viable and competitive product, ROCKWOOL have invested in new modern methods of manufacturing such as; cutting equipment to enable the suitability of a variety of pipe diameters with minimal waste, plus new bespoke machinery to expedite the foiling process to deliver a more cost-effective finished product to the market. Furthermore, a new stone wool base was developed to meet the strength requirements with a reinforced foil facing been applied to provide additional strength whilst still maintaining vapour control for the new ROCKLAP Pipe Supports.

ROCKWOOL DUODUCT

ROCKWOOL DuoDuct is a non-combustible thermal insulation solution for rectangular and square external ductwork to minimise the risk of fire spread in buildings. It is durable, fire resilient and compatible with common external finishes. Heat losses from service ductwork can have a significant effect on the environment and energy performance within any building.

Thanks to its dual-density technology and inherent properties of stone wool, the product remains strong and malleable in addition to offering enhanced impact resistance over a standard stone wool product. This perfect balance of strength and flexibility makes it easy for installers to detail DuoDuct around flanges, saving install time and onsite costs. DuoDuct is ideal for areas where the duct maybe susceptible to damage, such as plant rooms, confined spaces or ductwork near high traffic areas. 

DuoDuct thermal properties offer longevity of performance and a safe option, particularly when installing in or around chillers, RTU, AHU, and completing general roof hot works.
