Ash Sakula and Sarah Wigglesworth have been shortlisted for this year’s Stephen Lawrence Prize.

Coffey Architects, winner of BD’s YAYA award in 2012, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, Henning Stummel and Tsuruta Architects complete the list.

The projects – which must all be built for less than £1 million – include house extensions, a mobile artist’s studio and a house clad in tin.

The £5,000 prize was established in memory of Stephen Lawrence, the teenager murdered in south east London in 1993 who hoped to become an architect.

It was founded by former RIBA president Marco Goldschmied who is one of the judges along with Lawrence’s mother Doreen Lawrence, and last year’s winner Niall McLaughlin.

The winner will be announced at the Stirling Prize ceremony at the RIBA on October 6.
