Previewing at EDIT Naples, international design fair, October 11-13

Coralla Maiuri is a versatile Roman artist and designer whose creative vision effortlessly spans across multiple mediums. For a long time, she has been experimenting with a diverse range of materials, from velvet to metallic furniture and tables. An experimentation that already found expression in the visionary art of porcelain and ceramic tableware, accessories and one-of-a-kind pieces.

Her universe is a realm of vibrant colors, light, and shapes that take form as artistic creations first, later evolving into functional pieces for everyday life.

This year, the brand is expanding into new realms of home decor, bringing to life Coralla’s comprehensive vision of design. The latest concept, ‘Coralla’s Room’, will debut at the international design fair of EDIT NAPOLI, introducing a fresh collection of colorful silk velvet cushions and sleek modern coffee tables.

Simultaneously, Coralla is developing carpets and exploring the full potential of her vibrant drawings in a broader textile collection, with new product lines such as tablecloths, blankets, and furniture coverings…

‘Coralla’s Room’ and the new product lines, will be displayed at Galleria Mia, in Via di Ripetta 224 in Rome, starting mid November 2024.

Coralla Maiuri’s coffee tables stand out for their unique and unmistakable character.

Interestingly, these tables were designed by Coralla over 15 years ago. While her work is often linked to Roman Baroque influences, these pieces showcase a rather minimalistic approach, yet still retain her signature mastery of light and luminosity, effortlessly transforming any space with their radiant presence. Made of steel with an essential design, they feature a softly undulating tabletop that creates a captivating contrast with the solidity of the material. Each table, custom-made to the desired dimensions, becomes an exclusive piece: a true explosion of light that can transform any space, lending it an almost surreal atmosphere.

Coralla’s cushions are a tribute to creativity, vibrant imagination, and the joy of living, brought to life through daring color experimentation. Made from silk velvet, they offer a perfect fusion of sophistication and modern flair, adding both elegance and contemporary style to any setting. They are split between the “dreamy” line, characterized by abstract, yet soft and colorful drawings, and the “cow line”, which reuses Coralla’s cow illustrations originally created years ago for an orphanage in India. Cows, along with mountains and other motifs, are signature elements of Coralla’s work, making these pieces truly iconic.

The creative act is also renewed in the Impressions collection, tableware that welcome the symbols of Coralla!

The Impressions collection showcases Coralla’s exploration of geometry and minimalism, a change from her earlier work. Each design includes familiar symbols and motifs from her art, like the Mountain, which she considers as gateways to life’s deeper mysteries. Every plate reflects her vision of blending art with a sense of order and peace, offering a visual journey through the graceful beauty of structured shapes and their hidden meanings.
