Architects’ designs for Regent Street Windows project shops unveiled
Annual RIBA retail project extends beyond Regent Street for first time.
Architects’ collaborations with West End retailers have been unveiled for this year’s RIBA Regent Street Windows project.
Young chartered practices were chosen for the 2016 project by the RIBA London region and paired with different shops.
The architects worked with the clients to create a window display that reflected the brand with an architectural twist.
For the first time the installations extend beyond Regent Street to include Liberty on Great Marlborough Street and the RIBA offices headquarters on Portland Place.
Dian Small, director of RIBA London, said: “The RIBA Regent Street Windows project has established itself as a showcase for some of London’s finest emerging architects. Each year the installations demonstrate the fluidity of contemporary architecture, with each pairing embracing innovative art and design practices.
“It’s a pleasure to see the participants collaborating with some of the world’s leading fashion and beauty brands and envisioning such striking displays on an alternative space and scale.”
The installations will be in place until September 25.
