The bespoke lighting projects undertaken to date have ranged from private residential lighting design and international hotel lighting schemes, to large scale commercial branding. Most recently, The Light Lab manufactured and installed a stunning bespoke atrium lighting feature at the commercial offices of Broadgate West in the City. The installation took place over a six week period using specialist installers who worked alongside a team of abseilers to ensure that each bespoke halo structure was installed in line with the detailed concept design provided by lighting designers Cundall & JRA Architects. With the installation spanning almost the full length of the 50m atrium and each chandelier weighing at a whopping 750 kg, this was the team’s largest atrium lighting project to date. The scale of the design challenge was added to by the running and management of over 1km of cabling, together with the need to provide sufficient strength to each illuminated ring whilst ensuring there was no visible shadowing.
The Light Lab understand the importance of even the smallest of details and how to manage and undertake installations of any kind. The client’s vision was successfully brought to life and they were delighted by the end result.
