BW: Workplace Experts completes office transformation for Skyscanner in Edinburgh

BW: Workplace Experts has successfully delivered a new office transformation in Edinburgh for global travel brand Skyscanner. This follows on from the design and build fit-out completion of Skyscanner’s Glasgow office earlier this year, with BW: Workplace Experts providing two distinctive yet aligned spaces that reflect Skyscanner’s collaborative team approach.
The 25,000 sq ft Edinburgh office, spanning across two floors, underwent complete refurbishment. Key features include a new hospitality-style arrival experience creating a journey and experience throughout the space, with intuitive work zones throughout such as collaborative hubs, quiet pods, and huddle rooms.
To reflect the local identity BW: Workplace Experts engaged with artists to help build and integrate references to Edinburgh throughout the fit-out, with local artwork and character design touches incorporated into the reception area and meeting rooms.
The BW: Workplace Experts’ sustainability team developed a comprehensive reuse strategy to reduce waste and environmental impact through careful material selection and by utilising the existing ceilings and furniture while maintaining the desired aesthetic. The team also collaborated with Verve to calculate and track embodied carbon in products used.
Daniel Callegari, Design & Build Director at BW: Workplace Experts, said: “We’re proud to continue our partnership with Skyscanner to create office environments that prioritise flexibility and provide an exceptional user experience. The Edinburgh office is not only visually striking, it is collaborative, people-centric, and tailored to its local identity, while maintaining consistency with Skyscanner’s global brand. We worked closely with Skyscanner’s team, our own experts, and multiple stakeholders, including the landlord, to ensure a smooth and successful delivery.”
The Skyscanner Edinburgh and Glasgow projects are the latest projects to be completed by the BW: Workplace Experts’ Design and Build team. Established in 2021, the Design and Build team now comprises 30 team members.
