ExCeL will play host to Grand Designs Live; bringing the very best of home design, build and innovation to London

Opening its doors for the 15th year this May, Grand Designs Live London gives visitors the opportunity to access over 500 self-build and home improvement companies, under the one roof. Split into four Project Zones of Build, Kitchens & Bathrooms, Gardens and Interiors, the event covers the key areas needed to complete a large scale home project.
The exhibition offers a mix of new product launches, items not available on the high street, plus access to a number of household names, with several featuring for the very first time at this year’s event. New for the 2020 show are the likes of AAB, offering a range of over 400 types of Dutch, Danish and German manufactured clay facing bricks, as well as Polysolar, manufacturers of transparent photovoltaic glass for roofing, facades, and whole building envelopes. Other brands include Jackon, providers of top quality insulation materials and David Smith St Ives Limited, manufactures of engineered joists, trusses, glulam and staircases.
Hosting a range of live talks from various industry experts, the theatre program will cover topics such as self-build simplified, how to get the best out of your builder and the key to building relationships between professionals and clients. Plus with event partners including NaCSBA and The Federation of Master Builders (FMB), visitors can hear about sustainable building techniques, open plan living, plus the value of home extensions.
Kevin’s Green Heroes, an area of the event which celebrates the most ground-breaking and eco-friendly products on the market, will return for its 10th year in London. This year, host of the event and presenter on the iconic Grand Designs TV show, Kevin McCloud, will select five new heroes to showcase their products, plus invite a selection to return from over the years, to see where they are now.
There are also a number of brand new features making their debut. The Innovation Trail will give visitors a way to discover the most ground-breaking innovative products and services located at the event and for interior inspiration, the room sets will provide a great way to take home supplier names, ideas and designs for the small, sometimes unloved, “Great British Box Room”.
To claim a pair of free weekday tickets to the event, head to granddesignslive.com and enter the code APROJECTS. Alternatively, if you cannot attend during the week, weekend tickets are reduced to just £9.
