Future thinking SAS opens new HQ

SAS International, manufacturer of state-of-the-art metal and acoustic ceilings, officially opened their new Reading headquarters on February 27th, 2020.

The prestigious opening event, hosted by CEO Todd Altman and Chairman Siobhan McElhinney, demonstrated the company’s significant growth, faith in the industry and continued support for their staff and community.

Guest of Honour Peter Freeman, founding partner of developer Argent, which has grown in parallel to SAS, was welcomed as a keynote speaker.

While reflecting on changes in the commercial property market over Argent’s forty-year history, the businessman noted:

“SAS have always invested for the long term, not only in facilities and machinery but in a culture of loyalty and trusted expertise, from staff towards their invaluable clients.”

It’s this culture that has spurred SAS’ support for initiatives designed to improve the welfare of working people, not only its own. This is demonstrated by their recent partnership with the Blue Building Institute, an organisation who work to spread understanding and adoption of WELL across Europe.

Ann Marie Aguilar, Senior Vice President EMEA at the International WELL Building Institute also gave a speech, highlighting the importance of building with human impact in mind and advising to “invest in people for the most valuable return on investment.”

The WELL Building Standard is recognised as one of the most exacting and focuses on factors that impact wellbeing of building occupants.

Fitted out by the SAS team on their own designs, their new HQ showcases their expertise. Prototypes and demonstration models were in abundance, with some attendees even having the opportunity to more thoroughly investigate SAS designs through a VR demonstration.

Having installed ceilings in iconic, landmark buildings worldwide, SAS leads through innovation, cutting-edge design and technical acoustic expertise, all of which was demonstrated last night.

So far, the success of SAS has been built on continued investment in manufacturing and achieving value for clients through world-class engineered solutions. Looking to the future, SAS intends to continue to bring their values of trust and loyalty to each project, delivering inspirational solutions.
