HKR Architects to design significant mixed use development at Nyes Wharf

Leading International architecture and design practice, HKR Architects has been appointed by Hinkcroft Ltd to design a significant residential led, mixed used development at Nyes Wharf in the London Borough of Southwark.
The proposals will include the provision of up to 200 new homes and around 15,000 sq. ft. of employment generation space, parking and associated landscaping.
Geoff Brocklehurst, Director of HKR Architects comments, “Development and regeneration is about building a long term future and creating places for people and we are extremely pleased to be part of such an exciting project in London. HKR’s approach to masterplanning and urban design focuses on creating environments where people can live and work in a safe, integrated community.”
Nyes Wharf is part of a larger composite 13 hectare site masterplan known as OKR14. The Old Kent Road is designated as an Opportunity Area in the London Plan because of its significant capacity for new development. Over the next twenty years, the Opportunity Area will be transformed, increasingly becoming a part of central London.
The site being developed in conjunction with Southwark Council’s draft Area Action Plan which seeks to deliver more than 20,000 new homes over the next 20 years. There is also the potential delivery of two new Bakerloo line stations.
