Lapalma for Architects London is now open

Lapalma proudly inaugurated its first London showroom on Thursday, October 3rd.

Located at 117-121 St. John Street, in the district of Clerkenwell that is home to the most prominent European architecture studios and design showrooms, Lapalma for Architects London, the headquarters of Lapalma Design UK Ltd, conveys the brand’s values by providing a meeting place for architects and interior designers interested in customising their projects with furniture by Lapalma. It is also home to a highly experienced team led by the agent Caroline Calvert and the new sales & showroom manager John Liddell.

With four street-facing windows, Lapalma for Architects London occupies 140 square metres. These include exposed brickwork, a distinctive feature of the central space, and an elegant linear set up designed to concisely present the main design worlds the company serves. Also present is a collection of products created to complement, over the years, the continuously changing experiences of using public or private indoor and outdoor spaces. The design, focused on quality and sustainability, was conceived to encourage well-being and facilitate relations between people and everyday work. In short, as stated in the company’s slogan Design for better living, to live (much) better.

The entrance lounge welcomes visitors with the PLUS versatile modular seating system, arranged here in a two-colour central island composition together with other proposals designed to serve this space.

And if the adjoining room is a real invitation to ‘set to work’, featuring the informal office proposed by Lapalma – open plan and for sharing, perfect for quickly exchanging ideas or brainstorming –on the opposite side of the showroom, a serene and elegant Café world is perfect for a break, or for working over a cup of tea without being disturbed. Here, Lapalma presents some of its latest products, accompanied by its best sellers, like the WOD space divider, designed by Raffaella Mangiarotti, or the new JEY BIG table. JEY BIG, a development of the Jey low table that features an iconic cement or marble base, is now also available in a table version for furnishing community spaces or contemporary residential environments in a modern style.

Last but not least, a large reserved area of the showroom is specifically allocated to meetings with architects and interior designers. Here, displayed on a metal wall rack, are some of the many models of chairs and stools available from Lapalma.

The materials library lets visitors explore solutions by Lapalma, taking a closer look not only at the quality of the materials selected by the company, and the finishes and colours available, but also at their sustainability and the excellently crafted details of the individual collections.

“After Milan, where we are present with an established space in the heart of the 5Vie district, we have chosen London to export a format that has proved successful,” says Romano Marcato, co-founder and owner of Lapalma. “For us, interacting with architecture studios is of paramount importance. We could not miss being there in the city where some of the most interesting international projects are created and launched.”

Open every day, from Monday to Friday and always by appointment, Lapalma for Architects London will be enlivened by a lively and interesting programme of events intended to establish its position as a venue where the design community can meet and exchange ideas.
