Lapalma: WOD landscapes reconfigurable design for dynamic spaces at Clerkenwell Design Week

Lapalma is proud to take part in the 14th edition of Clerkenwell Design Week, happening from May 20 to 22, 2023, across the furniture showrooms of the iconic London district.
For this event, the company is presenting WOD landscapes, a unique installation that brings a personalised touch to the central space at their location on 117-121 St. John Street.
A key feature of the set-up, the WOD partition designed by Raffaella Mangiarotti is presented in London in a joyful, double-height textile composition, creating a setting for the soft KIPU Club lounge chair, designed by Anderssen & Voll, shown in its new version with a swivel disc base.
The installation reflects a modern design landscape that is sure to captivate the Clerkenwell audience with its appeal. It emphasizes natural, earthy tones while offering a versatile solution for effectively dividing spaces.
In today’s rapidly changing living and working environments, adaptability has become crucial for designers. Modular, flexible, and easily integrated solutions allow interior designers to envision dynamic spaces that can transform over time without compromising aesthetics, comfort, or a distinct identity.
To address the need for flexible space solutions, the WOD partition was created. It consists of a succession of elements in wood or recycled polyester upholstered in fabric, connected by leather hinges that allow it to fully adapt to a linear or curved position. The system, which does not involve the use of metal components or screws, relies on an interlocking mechanism: the panels have a slot where a three-pocket cylindrical hinge can be easily inserted and then fastened with three pins.
WOD’s versatility allows it to fit seamlessly into diverse settings, thanks to the variety of finishes offered by the company. These include several natural wood types, such as natural ash and bleached oak, lacquered or open-pore lacquered finishes available in various colours, and fabric in several shades. Notably, the latest version of WOD has recently obtained Class A certification for sound absorption in accordance with UNI EN ISO 354:2003, making it ideal for creating private areas in open-plan settings in offices, hotels, or restaurants, as well as in sophisticated home interiors.
Other products featured at Lapalma’s London showroom are recent highlights such as LEM, a stool designed by Shin & Tomoko Azumi, recognised for its timeless style, shown in the new blue and green galvanic finishes. Visitors will also find the 10:30 sofa designed by Anderssen & Voll, alongside two Japanese-inspired stools, KAMI by Mario Ferrarini and AP by Shin Azumi, now offered in fresh brick, pearl, and pistachio colours.
