LUALDI PLACES LONDON: WORKSPACES FOR THE FUTURE
Lualdi, a renowned ‘Made in Italy’ design company that specialises in custom-made doors, systems, and furnishings for residential, commercial, and hospitality interiors, continues its “Places” series, launched in 2023, with a new event dedicated to workspaces.
The series stems from Lualdi’s desire to explore the relationship between architecture, design, and the spaces we inhabit in our everyday lives, with a specific focus on residential, urban, and work environments. So far, each event has brought together architects, designers, and industry professionals to discuss emerging trends and present new opportunities.
For London Design Festival, which celebrates innovation and creativity in international design, Lualdi’s London showroom brought together an esteemed panel of experts who discussed the future of workspaces, from design to construction to optimisation, to meet the evolving needs of businesses and people.
The discussion, moderated by Daniel Gava, featured Steven Blaess from Clivedale, a super-prime property developer creating luxury residential apartments, commercial, and hotel developments in London; Anna Vallius from Vibry Ross, a London-based female-led construction company with strong architectural roots; and Rupinder Mann from UnNamed Ventures, a company helping organisations design work environments for performance by using human behaviour insights.
Starting from the evolution of client demands over the last ten years, particularly in terms of functionality, well-being, and design, the panel of speakers discussed the challenges faced in making work environments effective and adaptable for today’s world. Flexibility and sustainability will continue to be key constants in designing physical spaces, maintaining their relevance despite rapid technological changes and the growing prevalence of hybrid work.
Steven Blaess, Clivedale: “Luxury in workspace design is no longer just about aesthetics; it’s about creating environments that blend elegance with functionality. Companies now demand spaces that not only look impressive but also enhance productivity and well-being. At Clivedale, we see this trend especially in high-end developments where real estate meets hospitality standards.”
Anna Vallius, Vibry Ross: “The construction industry is embracing innovation at every level, and diversity is playing a key role in shaping the future of workspaces. As a female-led company, we’re proud to challenge norms and bring fresh perspectives to how we build and design work environments that meet modern demands—flexibility, sustainability, and inclusivity are non-negotiables today.”
Rupinder Mann, UnNamed Ventures: “The key to creating effective workspaces lies in understanding human behaviour. Workplaces should foster a sense of belonging, psychological safety, and connection. By designing with people’s needs in mind, we can ensure that the spaces not only drive performance but also create environments where employees feel engaged and supported.”
London is a key strategic hub for Lualdi to provide architecture and interior design firms with direct, bespoke design services during the specification phase and to identify new opportunities, both locally, in the highly promising private residential and commercial sectors, and internationally.
Lualdi continues to innovate and create products that reflect the vastity of human experiences, combining advanced industrial production with artisanal craftsmanship to meet any design need. Flexibility, an integrated approach, collaboration, and internationality are, in short, the key elements for offering ever innovative and sustainable solutions.
