LumiAdd’s Latest Luminaire ‘Lacrimosa Pro’ Honoured at Mix Awards 2025

LumiAdd is proud to announce that its newest luminaire, the Lacrimosa Pro, has been honoured as Product of the Year – Lighting at the prestigious Mix Awards 2025. The accolade follows a rigorous judging process by an expert panel of commercial interiors professionals, recognising the product for its sustainable innovation, manufacturing excellence and design integrity.
The Lacrimosa Pro is a sculptural pendant luminaire inspired by an asymmetric ‘twisted’ teardrop form, with its light source discreetly nestled within. Daringly utilising a fully nonplanar 3Dprinting process – where the print head moves continuously across three axes – meaning the end product achieves a seamless, fluid form that defies typical layer-based constraints. Made from renewable, plant-based polymers optionally enhanced with repurposed waste materials, Lacrimosa Pro is available in over 180 curated colourways and finishes – offering an exceptional breadth of aesthetic choice without compromising on sustainability.
Judges praised the Lacrimosa Pro as “exceptionally strong”, highlighting its zero-waste manufacturing, local UK production and measured circularity performance. The product’s innovative buyback scheme, supporting refurbishment and recycling, was emphasised as integral to its lifecycle strategy. Special commendation was given for transparent CO₂ equivalent savings compared with fossil-based plastics and aluminium.
Functionality has not been compromised for form. With selectable optics (a 340° glow or a narrow beam yielding up to 121 luminaire lumens per circuit watt), the Lacrimosa Pro is equally suited to decorative and task focused applications. Its low glare design and range of curated sizes ensure versatility across hospitality, workplace, and residential projects.
Jamie Norris Green, designer and founder of LumiAdd, said: “This design is very personal to me. I wanted to create a form that really utilised the potential of 3D printing and was difficult to create with traditional manufacturing techniques. Taking this one step further with non-planar 3D printing was challenging but equally rewarding and exciting for future designs.”
At LumiAdd, we remain committed to pushing the boundaries of sustainable lighting design. Winning Product of the Year – Lighting at the 20th Mix Awards underscores our belief that environmental responsibility and refined aesthetics can coexist. LumiAdd warmly thank the Mix Awards judges, sponsors and the wider community for recognising the Lacrimosa Pro’s contribution to a greener, more beautiful built environment.
