The Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) announces the appointment of three new partners: Marianne Anthonissen, Kaveh Dabiri, and Samir Bantal. Each has worked with the firm for over a decade. This brings the total number of partners back up to ten, alongside Rem Koolhaas, Reinier de Graaf, Shohei Shigematsu, Iyad Alsaka, David Gianotten, Jason Long, and Chris van Duijn. Together, the partners lead the firm’s management and global portfolio from its offices in Rotterdam, New York, Hong Kong and Australia.

Marianne Anthonissen joined OMA in 2016. She joins the partnership as Managing Partner, sharing responsibility for the management of the firm with David Gianotten. In her previous role as Chef de Bureau, she was responsible for staffing and the day-to-day organization of the office. In 2021 her role expanded to encompass responsibility for the firm’s global human resources and operations. Born and raised in South Africa, Marianne studied architecture at the University of Cape Town and graduated in 2001. She practiced for nine years in Cape Town and Johannesburg before relocating to the Netherlands in 2013. She completed an MBA at TIAS School for Business and Society in Tilburg in 2015.

Kaveh Dabiri joined OMA in 2009. He first worked on the G-Star RAW Headquarters team, and has since contributed to and led a broad range of architecture, masterplanning, preservation, and exhibition projects in the Middle East and Europe. His recent work includes the design of Concrete, an exhibition and events venue at Alserkal Avenue in Dubai; The Al Daayan Hospital of the Future prototype; the scenography of the 2023 and 2025 editions of the Islamic Arts Biennale at the Hajj Terminal in Jeddah; and the expansion plan for JAX, a cultural district at an industrial heritage site in Riyadh. Born and raised in Tehran, Kaveh studied and practiced architecture there before moving to the Netherlands in 2007 to study Urbanism at TU Delft.

Samir Bantal worked at OMA from 2005 to 2007 and joined again in 2015. Since 2016, he has been the director of AMO, OMA’s research and design studio, which applies architectural thinking to domains beyond architecture. Samir’s work focuses on how institutions and brands engage with contemporary culture, particularly in design, media, fashion, and technology. His early contributions include work on the Image of Europe and Al Manakh, from the period when OMA began expanding across the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region. As director of AMO, he sustained a multi-year collaboration with the designer Virgil Abloh and co-curated Countryside, The Future, with Rem Koolhaas, which was presented at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York in 2020 and in Doha in 2025. In addition to AMO, Samir is involved in architectural projects globally at a range of scales.
