“Playful” house extension shortlisted for RIBA House of the Year 2025

Triangle House, a playful terracotta tiled house extension in Surrey that traverses a challenging triangular plot, is the third home to be shortlisted for RIBA House of the Year 2025 (sponsored by Renson).
The annual award is awarded for the UK’s best new home, with the shortlisted houses revealed on Grand Designs: House of the Year, Wednesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.

The architects were tasked to extend a compact 1950s suburban house in Epsom, Surrey, to accommodate large family gatherings, and consider the future needs of their client couple into older age, in terms of access, running costs and garden pleasures. They have achieved far more than simply fulfilling the brief.
