Wessex® BS3882 10mm Soil

Our Wessex 10mm is a mixture of top-quality local Topsoil mixed with PAS 100 Green Compost. We then test this in accordance to meet the British Standard BS3882: 2015. A copy of our test analysis is available upon request.

With a PH between 7.5 – 8.5, this Soil is perfect for general landscaping uses such as turf laying and seeding. The Soil particles are 10mm down and never contain any additives.

LECA Lightweight Rooftop Soil

After years of research, this Lightweight Soil has really taken off in the last few years! With Rooftop Planting being a growing trend in large cities, this is the perfect Soil for podium and rooftop planting.

This 10mm Soil consists of Light Expanded Clay Aggregates which provide the perfect balance of moisture, food and air. The space between the small pebbles allow oxygen to get to the roots, enhancing airflow to the roots.

Our LECA Soil is a lightweight, blended soil which is made up of screened, sandy loam soil, coconut husk coir, PAS 100 Green Compost and LECA 4-10mm.

This sandy loam Soil is BS3882 compliant and screened to 10mm. It provides good structure due to its blend of sand, silt and clay. The sand aids drainage while the silt and clay provide nutrients and hold moisture.

The coconut husk coir is a natural, organic material and is added to this unique soil blend due it its excellent water absorption and retention. This makes for a high success rate for germination.

PAS 100 Green Compost provides a slow release of nutrients while improving soil structure. It aids drainage and reduces soil compaction to ensure the soil stays lightweight.

Wessex® Dutch Tree Sand

Also referred to as Amsterdam Tree Sand, this sandy Soil has been created purely for the demand for Urban Tree Planting in built-up cities. This is a Government incentive that provides multiple benefits to the air quality and climate change.

This Tree Sand was exclusively used in King Charles’ Poundbury Project in Dorset; a development that started in 1993 to provide an eco-friendly place to live.

Wessex® Dutch Sand has been made from local graded Silica Sands and PAS 100 Green Organic Compost. The particle size is 10mm with a PH level between 8 – 8.5.

While allowing tree pits to remain free draining, this loamy Soil can also maintain heavy footfall and vehicle movements without compacting. The added organic compost is what gives the tree roots the nutrients to develop well and grow strong.
