THE NEW ERA OF FLORIM GALLERY

Florim Gallery

In a setting that celebrates design culture, Florim renews its dialogue with the world of architecture and interiors, reopening the doors of its Gallery to unveil a completely reimagined exhibition concept, developed in collaboration with architect Matteo Nunziati.

At Florim’s headquarters, a multisensory installation spanning 9,000 square meters comes to life — an immersive space where material, light, and emotion blend to express the identity of the products in a fresh and engaging way. The project unfolds across four exhibition areas, with a central piazza acting as a vantage point over the surrounding micro-architectures, each showcasing the aesthetic versatility and application potential of Florim’s collections.

What is Florim Gallery, how has the space changed, and what inspired the project?

Florim Gallery is a multifunctional space covering 9,000 square meters, located at the company’s headquarters in Fiorano Modenese (MO), Italy. Opened in 2013, the venue is spread over two floors. At its heart is a double-height central area designed to host large events, while the upper floor is dedicated to product displays.

In late 2024, a renovation project was launched to rethink the exhibition concept and enhance the guest experience.

The ground floor has maintained its role as an event and hospitality space open to the local community, but it has been reimagined with a more elegant and refined atmosphere. The first floor underwent a complete restyling. This decision was driven by the profound transformation the world of ceramic surfaces has undergone in recent years: slab sizes now exceed 3 meters, thicknesses range from 3 to 20 mm, and technologies enhancing both aesthetic and technical performance have advanced significantly.

Florim realized that the way materials are showcased needed to evolve to communicate more effectively with architects, interior designers, the real estate sector, and furniture manufacturers — today’s key users of ceramic surfaces.

The result is an immersive experience that narrates the full design potential of ceramics, now used in entirely new ways: kitchens, wardrobes, spas, shower trays, outdoor spaces, marine applications, and more. Beauty meets functionality in every setting. Today, Florim Gallery stands as a manifesto of Italian know-how applied to design.

What are the main innovations introduced in the restyling of the Gallery, and how is the new exhibition layout organized?

The new exhibition concept embraces a dynamic and experimental language, introducing an evolved approach to presenting ceramic products — one that balances aesthetics, functionality, and innovation.

The layout unfolds along four thematic paths, reflecting the core identities of Florim’s design philosophy: Luxury, Creative, Architectural, and Contemporary.

At the heart of each section is a central “piazza”, a reflective space that acts as a starting point for discovering a series of full-scale micro-architectures expressing different design visions. These installations were developed in collaboration with leading names in Italian design.

Within these environments, Florim’s brands and collections offer versatile solutions: from ultra-thick technical slabs to the thinnest and most flexible curved surfaces, each material adapts to a wide range of design needs.

The restyling also introduces four fully equipped co-working areas — collaborative spaces where professionals, designers, and the FLORIM team can co-create and exchange ideas.

Aesthetic consistency and high technical performance form a narrative that goes far beyond the traditional showroom. This is a place to explore a new way of designing: one driven by innovation, sustainability, and emotional impact.

How was the immersive visitor experience developed, and how does the dialogue between ceramic material, light, and architecture unfold?

Lighting and digital content merge to shape a truly sensory experience. Light plays a central role in guiding visitors through the space, emphasizing textures, creating atmospheres, and enhancing material details.

Visitors are immersed in a striking, emotionally engaging environment where a dynamic visual narrative brings each space to life.

Here, material becomes language — every surface contributes to a clear design vision. Ceramic is no longer just a material, but an architectural system capable of evoking emotion and inspiring creativity.

Designed to offer concrete, functional solutions, Florim Gallery blends aesthetic coherence with technical performance, pushing far beyond the traditional showroom concept. It is a space to explore a new approach to design through innovative, sustainable surfaces that deliver profound emotional impact.
