TrustMark Home Improvement App – help in your pocket

With the UK domestic repair, maintenance and improvement (RMI) market worth an estimated £36billion, quality tradespeople are in demand.

But how do your customers know where to start, the questions to ask and whether they’re being given the right information when planning a project?

TrustMark’s home improvement App can help provide guidance and information, enabling you to help customers navigate the sometimes tricky path of engaging the right tradesperson to ensure a quality job to the right standards and levels of protection.

Taking them and you through the steps before, during and after starting a project, the free to download App can help improve understanding of what’s actually involved in projects – large or small – and the things they need to take into account every step of the way.

The latest update includes handy Checklists to help ensure that customers have covered what’s needed at each stage of the project. There’s also information in simple, easy-to-understand language on Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs); Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs); Damp, Mould & Water Damage and Asbestos (often found in older products and property).

Content already on the App includes information on other energy efficiency measures – insulation, solar panels, heat pumps and double glazing, general repair and maintenance, kitchens and bathrooms, loft conversions, garden buildings, living spaces and garages.

Developed in collaboration with Great Britain’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the App looks at all aspects of what’s needed to keep people and property safe while works are ongoing. This knowledge, along with wider understanding of what’s involved when having work done at home, should help to drive-up professional standards and health and safety practice amongst tradespeople

The App can be downloaded for free on Apple and Android devices https://onelink.to/g7jr84

Simon Ayers, CEO TrustMark said, “When homeowners decide to make improvements to their property it’s an investment, not just in financial terms but also their time and faith in the tradespeople doing the work.

“By having information in their pockets, homeowners can easily check the questions to ask of tradespeople, how to ensure that work is carried out to the proper standards and quality, that protection is in place if something goes wrong and that work is done to the correct safety standards. Our App is a handy one-stop shop for all that.”
