Progressive architecture studio, ThirdWay Architecture, celebrate their 2-year anniversary

London-based studio ThirdWay Architecture is celebrating its second anniversary this month in parallel with the completion of several milestone projects and the launch of a new website.
As part of the ThirdWay Group, ThirdWay Architecture has grown substantially over the past two years, from a team of just two to a thriving working community of 26 architects and designers. This growth has allowed ThirdWay Architecture to expand their reach, working on projects within the ThirdWay infrastructure, as well as establishing themselves as a stand-alone studio. Despite their rapid growth, the team are keen to keep their core values at the heart of all they do.

The business was founded on the belief that the industry could work smarter and harder; that aspects of the traditional architectural model are inefficient and slow and they don’t need to be. ThirdWay Architecture’s ability to quickly engage with a depth of cross-industry knowledge, project experience and a dynamic cross section of creators and innovators allows them to continually challenge and improve the way buildings are designed and procured.

The recently completed Provost Street – a two storey extension and complete refurb to a Victorian warehouse – strikes a perfect balance between traditional and contemporary design, while the ‘pop-up’ lab they designed for Landsec showcases new ways of working and offers its users a space that inspires creative thinking and collaboration.
ThirdWay Architecture are currently working through detail design on a significant corten-clad extension to an office building in Loman Street, Southwark, and at Settles Street they are on site with a contemporary glass extension to a Victorian labour exchange to unlock efficiency throughout the unique building, both due for completion in early 2020.
ThirdWay Architecture’s forward-thinking and collaborative working ethos continues to be visible in the recent completion of Chapter House, part of the Chapter and Verse commercial development by Old Street roundabout, as well as Drapers House which was shortlisted at the OAS Development Awards. Their innovative and tailored approach to engaging clients has ensured a future pipeline of exciting small and large-scale projects.

ThirdWay Architecture’s new website is a testament to their two-year evolution, detailing their journey so far and expansion. It acts as a portfolio, with detailed case studies of completed and on-going works, and a journal documenting their thoughts and activities.

Regarding the journey that ThirdWay Architecture has been on over the past two years, Founding Director Liam Spencer said:
“These past two years have marked a period of amazing growth for us as a studio, and the ThirdWay Group as a whole. One of our guiding principles is about making great architecture and having a great time doing it; something I can wholeheartedly say we have had in our sights the whole way. Looking back at the incredible portfolio of projects, clients and collaborators we have worked with so far makes me very excited about what the future holds for ThirdWay Architecture”.
