Alhambra Designs, the British studio renowned for its handcrafted Islamic artworks, is proud to announce its latest collaboration with the newly opened Gran Marbella Resort, a luxury Mediterranean destination developed by L+R Hotels and operated by Iconic Luxury Hotels.

The studio was commissioned to design and install a bespoke collection of more than 30 individual large-scale and intimate artworks throughout the resort’s public areas and guest suites.

Each piece is hand-carved from traditional stucco, a material deeply rooted in Islamic architectural craft, with the full collection taking more than six months to create.

Drawing on the rich design heritage of the Nasrid, Moorish, and Andalusian traditions, the collection brings centuries-old aesthetics into a refined contemporary context. Each piece was handcrafted using time-honoured techniques and materials, echoing the artistry of Al-Andalus while responding to the elegant minimalism of modern luxury hospitality.

The installation includes a series of signature carved wall panels in the resort’s main lobby and dining areas, as well as custom-designed works that enhance the atmosphere within the guest accommodations. The collection serves as a visual narrative – connecting the historical ties between Southern Spain and Islamic design with an elevated sense of place.
