Dress Code by Sapienstone: Interview to Jaime Beriestainsoldi where functionality meets design and poetry

How did your collaboration with Sapienstone for the “Dress Code” collection begin?
The collaboration with Sapienstone was an incredible opportunity. The idea of merging design, fashion, and ceramics fascinated me from the very beginning. Dress Code represents a perfect synthesis between these two worlds, and it allowed me to express my design approach in an innovative way. Each piece in the collection is conceived as a “garment” for the space, where every detail contributes to creating a unique environment.

In your creative process, how do you merge the world of design with that of fashion?
I believe that design and fashion have a lot in common, especially when it comes to textures, colors, and shapes. Fashion has always been a great source of inspiration for me, and with Dress Code I wanted to bring the idea of a tailored garment into interior design. Every material, finish, and ceramic format was chosen with great care—as if I were creating a suit for a space, paying attention to every detail to ensure a harmonious and sophisticated result.

What are the defining elements of the Dress Code collection?

The collection is defined by the fusion of rich textures and a color palette I’ve called Deeply Chic. Each piece has a function, but at the same time contributes to the overall harmony of the space. One example is the Fior di Viola 4Dmarble, which stands out for its burgundy veining and Plissé effect, adding depth and a sense of luxury reminiscent of the most exclusive fabrics. It’s a play of contrast between delicacy and precision, achieving the perfect balance.

Let’s talk about how Sapienstone’s technology contributed to the development of this collection.
Sapienstone’s technology was key to creating such an innovative collection. Thanks to the precision of its manufacturing and the quality of the materials, we were able to experiment with textures and finishes that break the traditional codes of ceramic application. In particular, the 4D technology applied to the Fior di Viola marble played a decisive role, allowing us to create surfaces with depth and movement, conveying a sense of luxury and uniqueness. Each piece is not only functional but integrates seamlessly into the space, enriching it with refinement and character.

In what way does this collection reflect your vision of design?

To me, design is a language. Every choice, every detail, tells a story. Dress Code is my way of expressing the balance between aesthetics and functionality—creating spaces that are elegant and livable at the same time. I wanted every element in the collection to blend naturally, creating an atmosphere with personality, without ever being excessive.

The Dress Your Look project is part of a broader concept. What does this approach from Sapienstone to interior design represent to you?

Dress Your Look goes beyond furniture: it’s a way of understanding design as a form of style—like a garment perfectly tailored to the space. Sapienstone, with its motto Haute Couture Surfaces, has created a new vision of interior design, combining advanced technology with refined and sophisticated aesthetics. This approach, which blends innovation and tradition, not only fosters creativity and exclusivity but also fits within a context that celebrates the beauty of details and artisanal precision. Each surface, like a piece of haute couture, becomes an element that transforms the environment into a work of art. I’m proud to be part of this project, which sets a new standard in the industry, reinforcing the connection with sustainability and the pursuit of the highest quality.

What message do you want to convey with your Dress Code collection?

The message behind Dress Code is that design can be just as elegant as it is functional. Every piece in the collection is designed to enhance the space and make it unique, without ever compromising practicality. I want people to see design as a language that speaks of elegance, character, and personality—just like a tailored suit that reflects the identity of the person who wears it.
