Jasmine Fisher chose from ILIV’s expansive range of fabrics for curtains, upholstery and headboards throughout this beautiful new lifestyle hotel in Southall, West London.

Launched in November 2024, Southall &Soul is a 302-bed lifestyle hotel designed with a difference. Beautifully designed its key focus is on community and wellbeing. It has a complete wellness programme that includes familiar classes such as Cardio HIIT through to holistic sessions including Song Circles, Sound Healing or Ecstatic Dance.

All this takes place across 19,000 sq feet of shared space. The immersive experience is further enhanced with rolling art exhibitions, keynote speakers, DJ’s, live music and cultural workshops.

As guests enter the hotel, ILIV’s art deco inspired Ritzy fabric from the Luxoria collection in the Midnight colourway is used to stunning effect as a backdrop at the welcome point. In the Shala, a space for yoga, movement, breathwork, and meditation, the curtains are created from Incanto in Rosa selected from the Jardine collection.

Specifically created to connect guests to the natural world, the bedrooms are inspired by the elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water, with headboards upholstered in different ILIV fabrics to suit each concept.

Rooms where the element of Fire is the focus have a cosy mood achieved with ILIV’s Omega fabric, a textured bohemian velvet chevron stripe in the warm Wine colourway. The dynamic chevron patterned fabric is unconventionally used on its side across the headboard, its powerful colours intensified by the pale pink painted wall behind.

In contrast, a cool, restful atmosphere is created in rooms where Air is the key element using their Alps textured weave in subtle Glacier on the headboard, a textured weave in soft duck egg, cream and pale brick colours.

Set against the palest of willow green walls, Matsu, ILIV’s intricate tree grove patterned fabric in Sage is the focus within the Earth inspired rooms. For the final element Water, textural chenille fabric Azoth in its bold Aqua colourway positively flows from the headboards. Vanity stools in all the rooms are upholstered in Burghley, ILIV’s smooth-textured faux leather.

In celebration of the local area’s Indian heritage, the bar window cushions are upholstered with Elephas in the Ocean colourway. The design, an intricate pattern of bold intertwined florals,

elephants, tigers and peacocks, is complemented perfectly in the non-alchoholic elixir bar which is wrapped in Mantra Dijon. ILIV created this bespoke colourway based on coloured ribbons that Jasmine provided for them to colour match.
